PPP rejects Soomro's resignation linked to Bilawal

KARACHI: As reports came in that chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, was set to make his maiden appearance in the parliament after PPP MNA Ayaz Soomro tendered his resignation from Larkana's NA -204, Senator Farhatullah Babar denied that any such development was on the cards.

Bilawal became eligible to contest elections after turning 25 on September 21 this year and was also scheduled to take reigns of the party by the end of this year.

PPP leader Ayaz Soomro submitted his resignation to the party's leadership in Sindh and vacated his NA-204 seat earlier on Thursday.

Reports said Soomro's resignation paved way for the son of late premier Benazir Bhutto, and former president Asif Ali Zardari to finally make an entrance in the legislatures. However, later party sources said Soomro's resignation had no relation with any plans for Bilawal's foray in the National Assembly.

Media outlets also reported that Ayaz Soomro may now be made an advisor on law to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah.

Establishment never wanted PPP to reign: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari blamed establishment for its party defeat in May 11 elections, adding that certain elements in establishment didn’t want PPP to reign the country.
Addressing a rally on Benazir Bhuttu’s death anniversary in Garhi Khuda Baksh, Bilawal Bhutto said peace talks with Taliban could not be held.
Terming Imran Khan as ‘Buzdil Khan’, PPP chairman said PTI choked Nato supply to protest the killing of slain TTP chief Hakeemullah Mehsud.
Referring to PTI’s demand to end drone strikes, he said militants would continue to attack even if drone strikes were halted in the tribal areas.

Bilawal declares war against Taliban at start of political career

KARACHI: In a fiery speech at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh to mark the sixth death anniversary of his mother Benzair Bhutto on Friday, patron-in-chief of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari declared war against Taliban militants while announcing the start of his political career.
He also indicated that his two sisters, Asifa and Bakhtawar will also participate in practical politics before the next elections, scheduled to be held in 2018.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari: The new hope for Pakistan’s future

During his recent speech, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stunned everyone. His style and tone of addressing the masses at Garhi Khuda Bux turned the tide and changed the way many political experts used to think about him – such a performance from him was unexpected and refreshing for everyone.

He was consistent with his words and fluent in Urdu, which has been his weak point in the past. He was emotionally riled up and involved the audience. His speech was even witty, especially when he discussed the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) stance on extremism and their passive approach to the issue.
